We gathered on Friday, September 12, 2008 for a Meet and Greet at the Marina Inn. On Saturday, September 13, 2008 Principal Furtado opened up San Leando High School for us to do a tour which was guided by several student club members. The tour was taken by over 130 of us classmates, spouses and a few grandchildren that are presently attending San Leandro High. The experience was wonderful and we so enjoyed the interaction with the students.
Grammer School photos submitted by classmates for our 50th Class Reunion along with A collection of photos taken in the Grammar Schools in San Leandro that all went to Bancroft Junior High and Ended Up at "San Leandro High School". It makes us all united to two classes - January 1958 and June 1958.
The 15 year Reunion was held at the Blue Dolphin on the San Leandro Marina in 1973. Live Music was the IN thing. Our Class of June had a 5 year Reunion and NO 10 year, so with the Graduation list of Names and Addresses we started our search for about a Year for our fellow Class Mates. Fun was had by all! Some of the Class Mates hadn't seen each other for 15 years.
The January & June Classes joined together to celebrate a Casual weekend gathering to share memories with old friends, at the "San Leandro Marina Inn". This 40th (late) Reunion has been planned to truly spend some time with each other, with no formal events planned.
Saturday, May 1, 1999 started with a Golf Tournament - 12:00 noon - 6:30pm at the Tony Lema Golf Course. No Host Cocktails - 6:00pm - 7:00pm - Casual Dress Buffet Dinner - 7:00pm - 9:30pm. Dancing 9:00pm - 1:00am. It started to RAIN about dinner time (wouldn't you know it), so a few brave souls stuck it out eating their dinner under the BIG TENT. That's how MEMORIES are made right..!!! Sunday, May 2, 1999 a scheduled Picnic Barbeque from 10:00am - 4:00pm, as for the Bay Area, Mother Nature decided to have it RAIN. Oh well, we'll just have to have our PICNIC in doors with steamed Hot Dogs with all the fixin'. See, this 40th Reunion will always be remembered.
We started out with a wonderful Italian dinner the night before we boarded ship, first stop Catalina Island with a Scavenger Hunt with teams all over the Island; then back to the ship and a wonderful time. Next stop Ensendada where we hired a bus to take us to Neuvo for a Lobster Fest and beach walking, then back to San Diego with a full day, on and on the fun went. Enjoy the photos
Continuing on...we boarded a bus in Ensenada MX that took us to the town of Neuvo for a wonderful Lobster Lunch and beach time along with some Mexico shopping...ending with the bus back to the ship. We did partake of Tequila shooters on the return bus trip to everyone's enjoyment. It was a little tricky using a cardboard box, relish cups for shooter glasses and a weaving bus trip but we prevailed...Then back to San Diego for a full day ... the fun continued through the Captain's Dinner, Chocolate Expo put on by the Chefs followed by a wonderful Midnight Buffet....The ship entertainment was above average also. The Committee was very happy that all enjoyed and we certainly had fun. Those water guns gave us a reputation all over the ship but even they were enjoyed by our outside shipmates....you would hear it before we even got to an area.....HERE COMES THE RED COATS...oh, what fun
